I have slight overbite and my ft teeth are bit spacey. to get braces but don't to wear them for too long. In general, how does it te for braces (the old fashioned metal and rubber band kind) to fix an overbite?

I have them at the moment, I've had them since 2nd March 2007, and I get them out this September-October. Treatment time is usually 1 and 1/2 years. About the head gear thing, that might be an american thing I don't kno. But here in england you can get headgear but they're not really for overbites. You have these little hooks on your braces already so then you get elastic bands over both and it pulls the teeth back into line with the other row of teeth. That's how they fix an overbite here. My friend has a major one that she could stick her thumb up through but all she has is them bands, no headgear.
