Can invisline braces work for people who have history with thumb sucking?

I sucked my thumb as child, had braces for 3 years. And to my parents irresponsible finished my treatment with my retainer. My teeth the have shifted bk to were they were, do not metal braces again.

  1. It’s best to break the thumb-sucking habit before any real orthodontic treatment. The orthodontist can provide you with a ‘habit breaker’ – it’s a removable plastic and wire retainer that has extra prongs to prevent your thumb getting into your mouth, to be worn at night so you break the unconscious habit.

If you’re not sucking your thumb any more anyway, it’s best to speak to an orthodontist about Invisalign, as it’s not suitable for everyone, and has to be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Sucking your thumb as a child wouldn’t necessarily exclude you though.

    All the best!
