I sucked my thumb as a child, had braces for 3 years. And due to my parents being irresponsible I never quite finished my treatment with my retainer. My teeth over the years have shifted back to were they were, I really do not want metal braces again.

When wearing braces, do your teeth get stronger because of how many times you must brush them?

I know when your wear braces, you must literally brush after every meal and floss. Since toothpaste's contains lots of Fluoride which is supposed to strengthen teeth, because of the amount of brushing you're doing, do your teeth become stronger with braces?

I have a slight overbite and my front teeth are a bit spacey. I want to get braces but I don't want to wear them for too long. In general, how long does it take for braces (the old fashioned metal and rubber band kind) to fix an overbite?
